The Norristown Hospitality Center is excited to welcome Aminah Armstrong to our team in the vital new role of De-escalation Specialist! While new to this specific position, Aminah is already a familiar and respected face within the Center’s community. For the past two winters, she dedicated her time and skills to our Code Blue Shelter program, doing a tremendous job greeting and supervising guests during dangerously cold nights. Her proven ability to provide firm yet compassionate care, combined with the trust she had already built with many individuals seeking shelter, made her a natural fit when the Hospitality Center looked to enhance its daily operations with this specialized role. Aminah officially started last month, transitioning smoothly from her essential work during emergency declarations to this critical daytime position.Since joining the daily team, Aminah’s positive impact has been immediately apparent. She has brought a noticeably calming atmosphere to our busy facility, greeting every person who walks through the door with a warm smile that instantly puts people at ease. Guests clearly respect her, responding well to her calm demeanor and efficient approach. Aminah quickly evaluates the needs of each individual, providing direct assistance when possible or skillfully guiding them to the appropriate staff member who can best help them. Her presence ensures a smoother flow, helps prevent potential conflicts, and reinforces a welcoming environment for everyone. We are truly so happy and fortunate that Aminah has joined our team!
