Starting with a self-assessment, we took time to listen to our constituents and other stakeholders and made some changes. As a response to the information we gathered, we extended our hours from 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on weekdays. This is an effort to meet a gap in services in the community. During the winter months, those experiencing homelessness or are living in temporary shelters, spend their afternoons either in McDonald’s or the library. The library is often closed during heavy snow, and they just walk the streets until it is time to find a place to sleep or return to their overnight shelters. Now they have a warm place to be in till 3.00 pm. During this time, they are engaged in programs at the Center. Our goal is to make available different options for our constituents that would strengthen their self-esteem and life skills. As we take a bold step in this direction, we rely on your continued support.
